There have been a lot of talks claiming that the US-bound Ford Ranger Raptor will rely on a turbocharged diesel powertrain. Even Ford has refused to deny this possibility and this has left many excited to see what the diesel-powered pickup truck will have to offer.
Well, we can get a better idea of it today because the global Ford Ranger Raptor had just made its debut and it runs on a turbocharged diesel mill. The engine is a 2L twin-turbo 4-cylinder diesel unit that is tuned to offer 156kW and 500Nm of torque.
With so much torque to offer, the Ranger Raptor can offer some serious off-road performance and it can also impress on high-speed driving at normal roads.
Power is managed by the new 10-speed automatic gearbox and the outcome of it all certainly looks like a midsized pickup truck that is ready to set the US market ablaze. Will this be the outcome for the Ranger Raptor in the local scene?
